Deck:
The Deck has been started and "none too soon!"
See that strange looking ladder thing under the deck leaning against the garage? That's been our ladder for months now. Even the windows and slider had to come up a ladder. (the window company installers forgot to bring a lift, even after I warned them that there were no stairs!). Our wonderful framers fashioned me the ladder because my gimpy feet can't handle a regular ladder very well, so this has been working great during the interum, -- if you don't mind climbing a ladder everytime you need something. Installing the electrical got to be a real nightmare, because the box is located downstairs. Plus with super high ceilings also required climbing yet another ladder. Anyway, it really put Rich and his brother Bill through the stress test of going up and down ladders all day. Oh, and then there was that inspector that wouldn't use it because it wasn't "OSHA Certified" Geeez!

Above: You can see the ladder the framers built for me (Marie). Because my feet are, well . . . gimpy, I can't use a regular ladder. I needed larger footings to push up from, so they fashioned this lovely, and very heavy ladder. It takes 2-1/2 men to move it. :-) Those very large piers you see poured will someday be covered with stone.

Finally: The deck (after the drywall guys left leaving their mess behind). We are still not finished. We have yet to stain the posts and rails and add the cap rail and lighting.
