Oh how I struggled on this one! Should we go with Straight Edge, or Staggered Edge Shingles? I was shocked when I couldn't find one single good picture on the entire web of the Staggered Edge - and I'm a Geek who prides herself in being able to find just about ANYTHING online, but no "good" pics of the Staggered Edge to be found. Not even on James Hardie's own website! Frankly, I really needed to see what a staggered edge really looked like "on a house", not on a wall in the store! Well, because we were going for whimsical on the design, and also because of the overwhelming votes from my forum buddies over at "That Home Site" located on GardenWeb.com, we went with the Staggered Edge. Needless to say, we love it!!! It gives it just enough whimsy to make it different, yet not too foofoo.

The photo at the top of this page, helps I hope, at least a little bit, for someone else out there looking like I did. I'll try to post lots more photos as we get the painting done. We still have another coat to add to the trim, and the added birdboxes, so the photos don't look that good yet. Also, as you can see in the photo above, we have the windows masked off for the drywall guys. We are planning on leaving the masking up on everything so we can just go in there with our airless paint sprayer and get all the interior painting done. This will certainly save us some time in having to mask it all over again.
